Sofia Gomez Vallarta

Program Coordinator: Los Cabos

Sofia manages our Cabo Pulmo and Los Cabos Conservation Program. She works together with different natural protected areas of the region and with a wide network of stakeholders in order to support the conservation of coastal ecosystems, such as coral reefs in the Gulf of California. 

Sofia holds a Bachelor's Degree in Oceanography from the Autonomous University of Baja California.. She studied Wildlife Management at the Instituto de Ecología, A. C. and received a course certificate on Institutional Development and Fundraising from Procura A.C. and Indiana University. Additionally she received another certificate for Cultural Policy and Management. Currently she is in the process of completing her second master's degree on Designing Sustainable Environmental Social Projects at the Universidad del Medio Ambiente in Mexico.

Sofia loves to travel and get to know new cultures. Sofia has a natural tendency to connect people to the ocean and nature. When she has free time, she loves to snorkels and dance West African and Mexican traditional music.
