WiLDCOAST - YEAR 2000
WiLDCOAST works with NRDC and IFAW and Mexico’s Group of 100 to successfully defeat the proposed San Ignacio Salt project campaigns. WiLDCOAST’s interview on CNN about the project and the need to protect large coastal ecosystems is televised worldwide. WiLDCOAST successfully takes on the organizing for the Grupo Tortuguero de la Californias, a binational sea turtle conservation coalition and holds the groups 2nd annual conference in Loreto. WiLDCOAST joins forces with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) to assume the management of the 105,000-acre Bahia Concepcion Peninsula Preserve.
